As Salida continues to grow and, it’s easy to forget the layers of history that built it. I don’t paint places like this to hold the town back — I paint them to remember where we came from.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eI moved to Salida for the mountain access, but I stayed for the character. The mix of graffiti and blue sky, a little wealth and a little poverty — for a mountain town, it felt real. It had heart.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eChange is inevitable, and it comes with both pros and cons. But knowing where a place has been matters.
